Then came our modern obsession with the isolated "5-cent plot". Today, virtually every single property is encircled by a massive, solid concrete boundary wall. These structures act as millions of localized mini-dams, blocking horizontal water transit. Unable to filter through the land, water is violently channeled through gates and directly into narrow public roadways, turning our streets into the only available rivers.
