🌿 Poem · Teacher Tribute

The Quiet Strength

✦ Antony Ancil  ·  June 2026  ·  Kollam, Kerala

For every teacher who walks unaware of their own grace —
in every classroom, in every life quietly touched.
The world looks at a teacher and sees a quiet guide,
But I see a gentle strength, immense and deep inside.
Like the elephant who walks the earth unaware of her own grace,
You step through life with humility, lighting up every space.
You may not count the milestones, or the years that softly fade,
You might forget the winding roads and the history you made.
The old routes in the desert sun, the paths across the sea,
But every single step you took carved out a world for all.
You forget your own accomplishments, the lives you touched and grew,
But hold the ledger of the past, and benefactors remember you.
For fifteen days, or fifteen years, or the decades still in view —
My compass always points right back to where strength is always found in you.
✦ A Reflection

Some people walk through life accumulating — titles, positions, recognition. Others walk through it giving — quietly, consistently, without keeping score. The quiet ones are often the ones who hold everything together. This poem is for them.
